CAMBRIDGESHIRE'S OWN PIPE BAND

Established in 2009, The Cambridgeshire Caledonian Pipe Band has grown from a small group of pipers into one of the biggest pipe bands in England.  We are a non profit community band, with all of our income from events being reinvested into out instruments, uniforms, musical tuition and rehearsal facilities.

The band will be led in the 2022 season by Pipe Major Callum Campbell and Lead Drummer Iain Soutter.  We wear a full highland uniform, featuring kilts of the Weathered Logan tartan.   Following the enforced break from events during 2020/2021, we are keeping everything crossed for a return to a busy calendar of performances in summer 2022, as well as a return to the competition ring where we will compete as a grade 4 band.

We perform at events all over Cambridgeshire and the surrounding counties, and have performed as a band in many countries far and wide!  We have played in village fetes, weddings, military events, rock shows and international music festivals and tattoos.  We play a wide selection of traditional and modern pipe band music, incorporating marches, airs, and dance tunes like strathpeys and jigs.

We have a near 70 year gap between our oldest and youngest musicians, and members from a wide variety of backgrounds - and would love to have you involved in the band whether as a musician or perhaps in one of the many administrative roles needed to operate the band.   Whether you can play bagpipes, or just want to take a few photos and tag us on facebook - and everywhere inbetween!  We want to hear from you and would love to get you more involved in enjoying and promoting our music.
