Operation Market Garden Commemorations, Arnhem

Operation market Garden in 1944 was one of the largest allied forces operations of the second world war which saw ground and airborne forces attempt to capture several bridges including the road bridge in Arnhem, a tragic story famously told in the Film "A Bridge Too Far".  We would encourage anyone to learn more about the operation which was surely one of the most heroic and unfortunately tragic mission of WW2.

We were delighted to be asked to form part of the massed pipes and drums for this year's commemoration events, playing at various times over a busy weekend including a parade over the John Frost Bridge, several performances in the town of Arnhem itself, and playing for the events and hosting of veterans at the Vitesse Arnhem Football Club.

Once again we joined up with good friends from The Seaforce Highlanders Leicester Pipes and Drums and the RBL Netherlands Pipe Band; and for the first time with The Kernow Pipes and Drums (Cornwall) along with many others from both Holland and the UK.
