We were hugely honoured to be asked by the Royal British Legion and Newmarket Racecource to be part of their annual RBL poppy Raceday.

On top of the scorching weather, the band were out in big numbers featuring a band first 11 pipers and 7 strong drum corps.  The band first performed for the arriving race-goers before leading a large parade of RBL Standard bearers down the final furlong.  We escaped the course into the winner's enclosure just ahead of the first race;  going was good to firm!

We left with a great deal of sunburn, and out of the whole band having backed only one winner - that piper is probably still giddy now!
