​​While we love playing locally, it is a real badge of honour and testament to our progress as as a band that we recieve invites now and again to travel abroad.  Unfortunately this invite was really short notice and only 4 members of the band could go, but still, those four joined with friends from across the UK and even Holland to form the larger Clan Gathering Pipes and Drums to perform across 4 very sunny days!

​​The event - Ortigueira's Festival of the Celtic World (Festival Internacional do Mundo Celta de Ortigueira) is a 4 day festival held in Galicia, Spain, and as the name suggests celebrates all things celtic music.  Bands from across Galicia, Asturias, Brittany, UK and Ireland featured on the main stage and demonstrated everything from trad style folk music to rock music played on a variety of different kinds of bagpipes.
